The Irrigation Extension project takes a novel approach to introducing technology to smallholders. Rather than presenting the gadgets as “the answer, a community development approach is adopted. This involves “checking in” on a regular basis with the smallholders in the target villages. A major “midline survey” is underway to finetune the final stage of the project.
