Through a decade of research with 2000 smallholder families, the ASLP Dairy project team demonstrated the effectiveness of the ‘Whole Family Extension Approach’ (WFEA). This involved the development and testing of a suite of extension modules and “train the trainer” packages. In a follow-on project, the team is researching how effective the extension staff in government services, NGOs and the private sector can be in applying this material to scale out the WFEA approach.
