Pakistani agricultural researcher Humera Iqbal was selected for the year-long Homeward Bound 2019 "HB2019" program, which culminated in a three-week sea voyage to Antarctica. Humera works with smallholder farmers, seeking especially to empower women smallholders. Dr Rebecca Doyle from the University of Melbourne participated in HB2017. Homeward Bound is designed to develop 1000 women science leaders. Rebecca says 'The value of collective leadership and collective science is the biggest and best lesson I learnt from Homeward Bound.'
