Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) in collaboration with ACIAR provided permanent raised bed machinery sets to two clusters of 25 wheat-maize farmers. The clear water savings and yield increase led to widespread adoption, followed by disadoption. This paper explores the drivers for this, including issues with weed control, non-compatible cropping pattern, small farm sizes, problems in tenancy rules, lack of awareness and technical skills of farmers. 2007
