Women in smallholder families in Sindh may have few opportunities to engage in the value chain or in field operations for cultural reasons. However, some women identified an opportunity to convert traditional home pickle-making into a commercial enterprise within their communities. ASLP Mangoes Value Chain project facilitated training and mentoring through Sindh Agricultural University. A follow-up study in 2018 identified ongoing positive impacts as well as lessons to be learned for similar interventions in future. Pickle was also included in the ACIAR recipe book.
