Nursery women fill fodder plant gap

""

ACIAR’s recent fodder research in Afghanistan provides valuable lessons for Pakistan. A total of 97 genotypes (68 legume, 11 cereal, and 18 shrubs) were evaluated (alongside locally available cultivars and 20 spineless cactus accessions) for adaptation and productivity in arid and saline environments. Meanwhile, female extension workers and farmers from Afghanistan were trained in nursery management (including seed selection, processing and germination testing as well as vegetative propagation) and enterprise development.
