The conference was organised in Bihar, India in collaboration with a range of national and international organisations (ICAR, CIMMYT, CSISA project, IRRI, NABARD, BISA and IFPRI). Discussion focused on the extent of the crop residue management problem and explored feasible recommendations on policies, strategies and technologies for effective and eco-friendly crop residue management. Many of the solutions included conservation agriculture based approaches as a way to manage residue sustainably.
