IPiG

IPiG has been designed to consider a sustainable inclusive approach to animal health governance that addresses the political commitment gap, whilst also ensuring a gender and socially inclusive approach to data collection to inform research and policy recommendations.

The project also intends to address the lack of integration of social and political science research design approaches in animal health governance. Recent efforts, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, have led to calls for greater integration of social science expertise in human epidemic and pandemic responses.

By narrowing the focus to one animal: “the PiG” the project seeks to address the socio-political gaps through all three stages of the project* and by doing so, widen the boundaries of expertise, reframe normative approaches, and encourage policy change in the Indo-Pacific region.
